Extreme cold warning for Thompson and other part of Northern Manitoba

Thompson and other part of Northern Manitoba will experience wind chill values near -45 are expected at times over the next couple of days in northern Manitoba as light winds combine with bitterly cold air from a ridge of high pressure.

Wind chills values will moderate this morning. However, extreme wind chills may redevelop tonight and Friday morning..

Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
